Here are presented some of my favorite books

My main book topics are natural science, popular science, science fiction
and technical books. Unfortunately I do not give myself time to read so much
imaginative literature. Although well familiar with (at least) technical English
I prefer to read books translated to Swedish.

August 31 2015. I have now started to read the very fascinating book
"Our Mathematical Universe" by the Swedish-American cosmologist and MIT
Professor Max Tegmark 2014. The main idea or thought by the book is that
the Universe and "everything" are different forms of mathematical structures.
The first five chapters of this book give very good insight to the standard model.

September 15 2017. Carlo Rovelli's nice little book "Seven Brief Lessons on Physics"
2016 is also very fascinating and beautiful. It takes only a few hours to read through.

New! January 7 2020. I have now read through the very fascinating book "Life 3.0" by
MIT Professor Max Tegmark about artificial intelligence and the quite probably future
existence of a "super intelligence". I read the book "Liv 3.0" in Swedish. The subject
is by nature very complex and the book is very good and quite "complete" as far as we
know today and i can't "review" it here. But I recommend everyone that is interested
in the subject (and many else) to read it. It is very important and gives hope for
mankind and future life in the Universe but it can also be a very dangerous travel
for us. He illuminates this by great knowledge and also goes quite detailed in to
cosmological and physical aspects of it. He and many clever people have started "FLI"
(Future of Life Institute) to discuss and be prepared for the possible rise of a super
intelligence and how to achieve the goal to make it "friendly" to us humans. He also
discusses quite detailed "consciousness" that possibly can be related to such an intelligence.
How a super intelligence can behave and what it can do is of course very difficult to
forecast and he discusses different scenarios and what it can mean to us.

New! November 4 2020. I have now read the very good book "Hunt for Alien Life" by
Peter Linde (Lund Observatory) in the Swedish translation "Jakten på liv i Universum",
2014. He was actually my supervisor during my astronomy time many years ago! :) The
book is a very good and quite deep overview where we stand today in this interesting and
fast developing area of research. I recommend everyone interested i this field to read it.

The list is not complete yet and in no special order. The Swedish titles are given in brackets.
